As Toyota puts it, it’s “a dream toy for adults”
Toyota has partnered with toy maker Tonka to create what is arguably one of the cutest-looking modded Hilux trucks we’ve ever seen. You just want to grab it by the roof and drive it around the carpet, placing obstacles in front and watch it tackle them…
But it is a real, full-sized Hilux, with all the capability that entails. Plus it features a thorough makeover that further ups its off road ability: “an increase in ride height of 150mm (6 inches). Combined with a high-riding axle, heavy-duty suspension and 35-inch diameter tyres,” as well as “A new front bar is compatible with the vehicle's safety systems while the bonnet has a carbon-fibre skin and features an aggressive "power bulge" and air scoops.”
The look is completed by a big LED bar above the windscreen and a removable tubular frame so that stuff can be fastened down in the bed.
It sadly won’t ever get built, but if you needed inspiration on how to turn your own Toyota truck into a toy-like off-roader that tackles the worst terrain with ease, this is a strong contender in that respect.
