We Have the Very First Image of the Future Audi A8

The next generation A8 will signal a revolution in design for Audi

Audi is not exactly known for its revolutionary design. All of that is about to change thanks to the future Audi A8, the flagship of the fleet.

The design will draw inspiration from the Audi Prologue Concept presented back in 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car manufacturer based in Ingolstadt, Germany, is expected to launch the new Audi A8 at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year, which will make it a 2018 model.

The size of the vehicle isn’t changing much compared with the current A8, though the nose looks to be a little longer. Also, the platform will be the MLB one, shared with Audi Q7. This means the new Audi A8 will have reduced weight, due to this more modern platform.

On the engine front, we expect V6, V8 (petrol and diesel) and even W12 petrol units, but also an advanced hybrid. In order to stand a chance against its main rivals – BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS and Mercedes S-Class – the car will come fully stocked with advanced assistance systems.
