Ford Launches F-150 Special Service Vehicle for Law Enforcement, Roadside Assistance

New Special Service Vehicle pack adds a high-output alternator, rubber mats instead of carpets, no center console and a different rear bench

The Ford F-150 is already a versatile and talented pickup, but some special duties require it to come fitted with additional equipment from the factory. The new Special Service Vehicle pack adds a high-output alternator, rubber mats instead of carpets, no center console and a different rear bench arrangement, as well.

Ford says the pack makes the vehicle suitable for police or emergency services work or for roadside assistance.

Press information for the pack features statements by Stephen Tyler, Ford police marketing manager. He said “Many officers need the extra space F-150 Special Service Vehicle offers,” adding that “they can load the cargo box with equipment and still fit five people inside. Its utility is unmatched.”

The F-150 is not the only Ford to have an available Special Service Vehicle pack; it joins the Expedition, Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle, the Special Service Police Sedan, Police Interceptor Sedan and Police Interceptor Utility.
