Honda has revealed the UK pricing for the Civic Type R, one of the most enticing and eagerly anticipated hot hatches of the last few years. The manufacturer is offering it in two guises, the £30,995 regular or the GT.
The latter is £2,000 more expensive and gets more kit as standard: blind spot information including cross traffic monitor, dual zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Honda CONNECT with Garmin Navigation, wireless charging, high power audio, and LED front fog lights are what differentiate the GT.
The Type R comes with a development of the FK2’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes the same torque as before (400 Nm) and 316 hp (only 10 more than before). It’s currently the fastest front-wheel drive hatchback around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
“As with the previous generation, we are fully expecting a huge demand for the Civic Type R. The order bank is already open and we are experiencing strong interest off the back of the launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and this is before our customers have even taken a test drive,” said Phil Webb, Head of Cars at Honda UK.
