Prior Design adds layers of muscle on the Audi R8

They’re just for showing off, though

While some people are not pleased with carmakers' offerings in terms of design, others just want to go the extra mile to make their cars stand out (even more).

When it comes to the Audi R8, the decision of visually modifying the body is somewhat understandable — I honestly don’t think the actual R8 looks better than the previous one, mainly due to the absence of those side carbon blades behind the doors. But that, of course, doesn’t mean the R8 is an ugly or bland looking car.

Prior Design is known for upping a car’s aggressiveness — although sometimes that means killing its elegance, and the latest example is this aero kit the tuning studio has prepared for the second generation R8.

Besides the 20-inch wheels, twelve pieces of fiberglass are included in this visual package that alters the R8’s stance, making it look a bit wider, lower, and meaner. Should you want more, the suspension setup, exhaust system, or cockpit design can be modified for an extra fee.

The powertrain remains stock — as a brief reminder, that means 605 PS (597 hp) coming from a 5.2-liter V10; 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds. Quick enough.
