A meaner, sportier, more attractive Camaro

Chevrolet decided the Camaro needs some refreshing and a new 275-hp version

The 2019 Camaro gets new front-end styling that differentiates even further between the LS/LT, RS, and SS versions. Almost everything was retouched: the fascia, grille, LED headlamps, and even the hood.

The new design helps improve performance, optimizing air flow, either to cool components or help minimize drag or lift. All models also received new rear spoilers, with specific diffusers on RS and SS when equipped with Dual Mode Exhaust.

Check out the new, more sculpted Chevrolet LED taillamps – with red lenses on LS and LT, and dark-tinted neutral-density lenses on the RS, SS, and ZL1. The RS and SS versions also get new 20-inch wheels.

2019 Camaro Turbo 1LE

The new Camaro Turbo 1LE has nearly 50/50 weight balance. Under the hood sits a 2.0L turbocharged engine coupled exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. It develops 275 hp (205 kW) and 295 lb-ft of torque (400 Nm).

The Turbo 1LE also has a chassis derived from the V6 1LE to offer track-capable performance. It includes an FE suspension with larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars, tuned dampers, stiffer rear cradle bushings and cross-axis ball joints in the rear tow links for better lateral stiffness. The car sits on split front/rear summer-only tires: P245/40R20 (front) and P275/35R20 (rear), with Brembo brakes.

Chevy's Driver Mode Selector now has a new Track Mode alongside the Sport Mode; its Competition Mode (within Sport and Track Modes) includes performance instrument readouts, launch control, shift lights and more.

Inside, you get a standard flat-bottom steering wheel covered in Suede, a sueded shift knob, and optional Recaro seats. The Turbo 1LE includes all the last-generation infotainment and driving assist modes available on performance Chevrolets.

  • Improved standard rear-vision camera system with a new, digital high-definition camera that offers improved view quality
  • Forward Collision Alert joins Camaro’s roster of available active safety features
