Acura RLX receives facelift for 2018 MY

Biggest changes are the redesigned front fascia and LED rear lights

Acura’s top of the line sedan offering, the RLX, has been facelifted for the 2018 model year to be in line with the current brand identity and it also received powertrain tweaks for the Sport model which features its proprietary Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system.

The biggest difference you’ll notice about the 2018 RLX from the outside is the refreshed front end which is designed around the big diamond pentagon grille, as the new design LED rear lights. It also gets more sculpted hood, new wheel designs and a gloss black rear diffuser too.

According to Jon Ikeda, Acura vice president & general manager, “this redesign of the 2018 Acura RLX is transformational, creating road presence and styling that better reflect underlying performance capabilities of the vehicle.”

Acura says it’s improved the RLX Sport Hybrid model based on experience gathered through the NSX program. It packs 377 hp and promises “instant acceleration, precise handling, outstanding all-weather performance and excellent fuel economy.”

You’ll be able to see it in the metal this month before it hits showrooms at “Carmel-By-The Sea Concours on the Avenue on Tuesday, August 15 and The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, on Friday, August 18.”
