All-New 2017 Kia Cadenza Starts at $31,990, Is $1,000 Cheaper Than Outgoing Model

The full-size premium sedan will arrive in U.S. dealerships later this month

Kia has announced U.S. pricing for the second-generation Cadenza, which starts from $31,990 (excluding a $900 destination charge) in entry-level Premium trim configuration.

That makes it $1,000 cheaper than the equivalent version of the previous-generation Cadenza despite packing more standard features. There will be three trim levels for the 2017 Cadenza: Premium, Technology, and Limited.

Starting at $38,990 the Technology grade offers standard features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Forward Collision Warning, Surround View Monitor, Smart Blind Spot Detection, High Beam Assist, and LED headlights. Added up these features represent a $4,000 value when compared to a similarly equipped variant of the previous-generation Cadenza.

The top-of-the-line Limited trim will be offered at $44,390 and will include a Head-Up Display (HUD), soft Nappa leather upholstery, Smart Power Trunk, heated outboard rear seats, and Dark Satin 19-inch alloy wheels, among other features.

Besides the three trims, Kia will also offer option packages. These include a $3,000 Luxury package that's exclusive to the Premium trim. The pack consists of power-folding mirrors, a Harman Kardon 12-speaker surround sound audio system, HomeLink rearview mirror with integrated compass, Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Parking Assist System.

Another optional package for the Premium grade is the $1,000 Panoramic sunroof with a power-operating shade and LED interior lighting.

The 2017 Cadenza offers a single powertrain option — a 290 hp 3.3-liter V6 gasoline engine mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
