The previous-gen BMW 6-Series is quite a big, hefty coupe designed more for cruising, really, than outright hooning. And yet, with a few… minor modifications, the peppy 650i can be turned into an ice racer.
It may look a tad on the ridiculous side with those skinny, studded tires, but it definitely looks effective. This particular car, driven by Austrian Andreas Aigner, had already been converted into a rally car, but it had never been driven on surfaces quite like the one shown in the video.
Fast ice driving / racing requires specific tires, and in this case ones with 7 mm studs were chosen. It’s definitely effective, but it looks a tad ridiculous riding on those small rims that can’t be any larger than 15-inch.
