It’s no secret that the now gone BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo was a sales flop, regardless of how much Munich tried to fit it with quality materials and whatnot.
“Unprecedented driving comfort” and “state-of-the-art chassis technology” are just some of the praising points BMW makes out of the new 6 Series GT. Yes, it’s a 6 Series now, and BMW threw in a lot of effort to make it worthy of the buyer’s Benjamins.
150 kilos lighter than the 5 Series GT, more aero-friendly, fitted with a self-leveling rear air suspension as standard and hosting a cavernous trunk, the new 6 Series GT is – at least on paper – every executive’s wet dream.
But that hasn’t stopped BMW from only trying too hard in promoting the car. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with that because marketing is king nowadays and customers seem to enjoy this kind of promotional bombardment every now and then.
