The outcome of these duels is not that easy to anticipate
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is one of the best-handling pony cars, but that doesn't mean it's out of its element on the drag strip.
One of its main rivals is the Chevrolet Camaro SS, but the GT350 also sees some unexpected competition from the Focus RS during the latest Racewars & WDRC event at Island dragway in New Jersey.
Both races were very close for the GT350, but one, in particular, surprised us. The 526 hp Shelby Mustang GT350 closely matches the 455 hp Camaro SS for acceleration (both cars go from 0 to 60 mph in little over 4 seconds), and their duel could go either way.
But what about the 350 hp Ford Focus RS? On paper, the GT350 should get a clear win thanks to its 136 hp advantage. However, the Focus RS is four-wheel-drive and 243 lb (110 kg) lighter than its drag race opponent. Watch both drag races below — we think at least one of them will catch you off guard.
