When in doubt, go for the all-black treatment

The M2 Coupe was BMW M's best-selling model in 2017, with worldwide sales of more than 12,000 units. To rewared the small coupe for its huge success, BMW's performance division has come up with an exclusive Edition Black Shadow model.

The name is self-explanatory: the special edition BMW M2 is exclusively available in a Sapphire Black metallic paint, complemented by several high-gloss black elements including the decorative grille for the kidneys, the carbon finish mirror caps, and the trim bars for the side panels.

Adding to the sinister appearance are the 19-inch black matt forged light alloys with a Y-spoke design and mixed tires. The rear diffuser features a carbon finish and black chrome trims for the M double tailpipes.

Sadly for those who were hoping for more power, no changes are made to the engine. The 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six unit continues to deliver 370 hp (365 bhp) at 6,500 rpm and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque from 1,400 to 5,560 rpm. Torque is sent to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional seven-speed M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic. To be honest, the M2 hardly needs more power, as it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds when equipped with the auto 'box.
