Hyundai’s new electric crossover can now be ordered

Hyundai has published the 2019 Kona electric price tag for the US market.

Hyundai’s US arm has announced that the 2019 Kona Electric will have a starting price of $36,450. However, customers can benefit from a federal tax credit of up to $7,500, which sees the sticker drop to $28,950 (or $29,995 including delivery charges).

So far, Hyundai is only revealing the price for its entry-level Kona EV trim, saying that pricing for other Kona Electric trims are to be announced shortly.

The 2019 Hyundai Kona EV boasts an estimated range of 258 miles thanks to a 64 kWh Li-ion battery pack that powers an electric motor good for 150 kW (201 hp) and 291 lb-ft of torque.

Tech enthusiasts will also discover that the new Kona Electric comes as standard with a floating multimedia touchscreen that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Optional features include the likes of an 8-inch navigation setup, HUD, Qi wireless device charging and Blue Link.
