Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 debuts with 302 hp

Shares powertrain/drivetrain with the Mercedes-AMG A 35

So, the idea of a Merc-AMG A 35 in either sedan or hatchback guise doesn’t really click with you? Then Fret not, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 is here - and what only really differs is the packaging.

The entry-level AMG-ized CLA can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds thanks to an in-line four, 2-liter engine that also makes 400 Nm of twist.

All this grunt is handled by the seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox and the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive setup.

Just like the A 35 AMG, the CLA 35 gets 350-mm brake discs up front and 330-mm discs at the rear.

On the inside, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 sports the same dashboard layout as the A 35. Also present is the AMG steering wheel and twin-screen MBUX infotainment setup with Supersport graphics.

You’ll be able to see it make a debut at the New York Auto Show on April 16, with sales kicking off later the same month.

For now, checking it out in the photos below will have to suffice.
