Mercedes-Benz Teases EV Study Ahead of Paris Motor Show Debut

The concept previews a new generation of electric vehicles from Stuttgart

The German luxury car manufacturer has just released a teaser video of its new electric passenger car study.

Mercedes-Benz has been tight-lipped about this concept vehicle thus far, only saying that the show car embodies "a concrete vision of a totally new generation of vehicles with battery-electric drive."

The vehicle features a digital grille that most likely displays messages to other road users, so autonomous driving capabilities may also be in the cards.

The film is showing us close-ups of the aerodynamic alloy wheels, the floating center console, the steering wheel, the cameras replacing the side mirrors, and the LED headlights. Although it's not very clear from the video, rumor has it the vehicle has an SUV body, previewing a rival for the upcoming Audi Q6 and the existing Tesla Model X.

All in all, the car looks intriguing, and we can't wait to see more of it and learn what it's capable of. There are no details available for now, so stay tuned for more information as the Paris Motor Show avalanche of world debuts starts on September 29.
