Mercedes Gives GLA Minor Nip, Tuck and New Tech at NAIAS 2017

We dare you to spot the changes without side-by-side photo comparo

You’ll only really notice Mercedes’ facelift of its smallest crossover, the GLA, if you’re highly familiar with the pre-refresh model. You can only really spot the altered bumpers, new alloys and color options if you have a side by side comparison, because all changes are detail changes.

Aside from the cosmetic changes, Mercedes also infused the refreshed GLA with extra tech: it gets new optional full-LED headlights that replace the previous bi-xenon units, 360-degree camera system, as well as standard Active Brake Assist and Attention Assist. The latter “it can detect typical signs of drowsiness via the steering behaviour and warn the driver about an impending microsleep.”

Inside, Mercedes has kept the changes to a minimum: the biggest alteration has been operated to the dials, where the new-design speedometer is divided into 30 km/h segments.

The AMG45 also received some unique changes of its own: restyled front splitter and rear diffuser, grilles and rims, as well as two new color options.
