Peugeot Details Its All-New Traveller Van at the Geneva Motor Show

The all-new Traveller van is part of a joint project between Toyota and PSA Peugeot Citroën

Based on a modified version of the EMP2 modular platform, the Traveller comes in many flavors: it is available with three lengths ranging from 4.60 meters to 5.30 meters, and it is available both as a passenger and cargo van.

In passenger configuration, the Traveller offers up to nine seats with 1,500 liters of boot space or up to 4,900 liters when the second- and third-row seats are removed. Peugeot also offers the new model in a range-topping Traveller Business VIP version, which provides rear-seat passengers with a four face-to-face seat configuration with individual leather armchairs, tri-zone climate control and mood lighting, among other goodies.

The engine lineup includes four Euro6 diesel engines with outputs ranging from 95 PS to 180 PS – two 1.6-liter units and two 2.0-liter units. The 1.6-liter engines have 95 PS and 115 PS, respectively, while the bigger units have 150 PS and 180 PS, respectively. The most economical model is the 1.6 L BlueHDI 115 S&S with a six-speed manual transmission, which averages 5.1 l/100 km and 133 g/km of CO2.

Peugeot boasts that the Traveller is available with a consistent range of safety and comfort features, including hands-free sliding side doors, opening rear window, glass roof panel, Active Safety Brake and automatic main beam switching – many of which are rare or even unique in the segment.

The Traveller also inaugurates Peugeot's latest generation of 3D navigation controlled by voice recognition and a new 7-inch capacitive touch-screen.
