Renegade Helps Jeep Set All-Time Sales Record In The EMEA Region In 2015

Jeep’s global ambitions are starting to pay off as sales in the EMEA region reach an all-time high

The 4×4 brand sold 117,620 units last year on these markets, a whopping 55.7 percent growth compared with 2014.

2015 was Jeep’s third consecutive year of commercial success in the EMEA region, with sales tripling on these markets since 2009. The region currently ranks second for volume after North America, accounting for 10 percent of Jeep’s global sales (compared with 7 percent in 2014).

Europe made up the majority of sales recorded in the EMEA region last year. 88,200 Jeep vehicles were registered in EU28 (European Union) and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) countries, accounting for a 113 percent increase compared with 2014. Jeep was the fastest-selling automobile brand in Europe, with a 132.2 percent increase.

Several European countries recorded their best sales year ever in 2015. These include Italy, the top-selling country in the region, where sales almost tripled over the previous year. Germany posted a growth of 42.6 percent, with a total of 14,995 new registrations. Jeep’s UK sales rose by 176.1 percent, while in France the automaker’s sales increased by 208.5 percent (8,585 units). Strong growth was recorded in Spain as well (205.4 percent).

This spectacular growth was fueled by the new Renegade entry-level model. The small SUV accounted for almost half of Jeep’s 2015 sales in the EMEA region, with 54,800 units. With 28,159 units, the flagship Grand Cherokee was the second best-selling model in the region, accounting for 23.9 percent of total 2015 sales. Cherokee sales continued to grow versus 2014 (20,552 units), while the iconic Wrangler had a steady performance with 14,109 units sold.
