Take your share of purity with this classic race cars dogfight

IT’S. JUST. PERFECT.

If you're not subscribed to the Goodwood Road & Racing YouTube channel, well, you can make it right with just a mouse click.

You've probably heard of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed, a magical place where classic cars (and modern alike) are worshiped like they should. That implies also racing them on the hill climb circuit built on the estate.

Besides hosting this classic car Mecca year by year, Goodwood also does coverages on classic cars racing events, and various members meetings, such as the Weslake Cup. What you're going to see below are excerpts from the 75th Members Meeting race, in which two of the competitors engaged in a race tight enough to make you squint your eyes a few times.

Richard Woolmer's yellow Austin Healey Sebring Sprite is struggling to maintain the lead ahead of James Colburn Lenham GT (which sits on an Austin Healey Sebring Sprite platform) despite all the car's squirms during braking, or wide sliding under fast cornering.

Without saying the modern racing is dull when compared to this, you may wonder if keeping things simple is not as good as upgrading them to the max. Because more spectacular to watch surely is!

Also, if you want more of this kind of action, check out this clash between a Jaguar E-Type and an Aston Martin DB4 GT which, unfortunately, ends with a crash.
