This Modified 2006 Porsche Cayman Has a Naughty V8-Swapped Secret in the Middle

You’d think a V8-Swapped Cayman wouldn’t work, but this one does really well

After watching the video review of this modified 2006 Porsche Cayman, you won’t think putting a crate V8 in it is a bad idea – it isn’t, especially if you don’t give a hoot about purity and originality and all you want is to extract as much power out of a chassis as possible.

Matt Farah of TheSmokingTire really seemed to like it for its power delivery, surprising balance given the new heavier engine and the amount by which the experience changes compared to driving the standard six-pot.

The owner apparently wanted to create a fast track toy out of his Cayman, and after examining his options, he decide the best way to spend his cash was on a Ford Racing “Aluminator” Coyote V8 motor. In this application it makes 425 hp at the wheels, much more than the 295 crank horsepower that it originally came with.
