Ford Mustang

Launched as a 1965 model, the Mustang introduced the world to the concept of the pony car. It was an instant success, with over 1 million units sold in the first 18 months.

It's one of the most recognizable shapes out there, although the second and third generations put a dent in its styling record.

But the Mustang isn't just a relic of the past. It still stands today, with its sixth generation looking sharper than ever.

Ford Raptor

Based on the F-150 bestseller, the Raptor is a beefed-up pick-up ready for some dune bashing straight out of the box.

Released in 2008, the Raptor got a second generation in 2015, when it ditched the V8 in favor of a 450 hp V6
It's fast, it's big, and it's badass.

Dodge Viper

Released to the public in 1992, the first Viper was a monster. Its 8.0-liter V10 engine was developed in association with Lamborghini.

It had no A/C, no door handles, no airbags, and no traction control. But it did have 400 naturally-aspirated horsepower. And it was awesome.

The latest generation Viper ran from 2013 to 2017 with an 8.4-liter V10 that makes 645 hp.

So yeah, the engine got bigger and better, but the Viper was eventually put down, with no official word on its resurrection. BOOOO

Dodge Charger

The Charger was introduced in 1966, but it became an American icon when the second generation arrived in 1968. The bullish looking two-door with hidden headlamps appeared in the hit film Bullitt, where it was driven by the bad guys.

Now, the Charger is a four-door sedan that can be fitted with a 707 hp 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. Not bad for a modern reinterpretation, right?

Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon

The CTS-V Sport Wagon is one of those cars that can be easily filed in the 'unicorn' folder. It was released in 2010 with a 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 engine that makes 556 hp, with two transmission choices: a 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual. It also came with Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes and very bad fuel economy.

So bad, in fact, that in 2014 it was described as the least fuel efficient small station wagon on sale in the United States, with an average of 14 mpg US or 17 l/100 km on the Old Continent.

Still, it can get from zero to 60 mph in just four seconds, so it kind of makes up for the bad fuel economy
