Watch This Ford Focus RS Driver Drift His Way Into a Wall

A Focus RS falls victim to its own Drift Mode

Having a Drift Mode button in your car doesn’t make you a drifter, and this driver learned it the hard way.

The 350 hp, all-wheel-drive Ford Focus RS is a hooligan’s hot hatch, a machine powerful enough to put a smile on your face — and with sufficient mechanical grip to keep it there. It also has a Drift Mode, which lets you have a lot of fun on the circuit.

I remember how slow I was in the Focus RS on the track, against my professional passenger’s screamed indications. I also remember, being seated left on the rear seat, how my left arm started to hurt while being taxied on the track by a rally driver. The grip levels are amazing with this car.

Of course, push it to its uttermost limit and you’ll find out it’s not magic what’s moving it around, but power and physics. And you can’t negociate with physics, or you’re going to kiss a wall or something.

This bloke here tried exactly that, and it didn’t end well. Dear Focus RS owners, please don’t let this beautiful hot hatch become the next Mustang.
