The 6.2-liter V8 is still available within the lineup
Ford has published some info about the 2020 F-Series Super Duty pickup truck, so here’s what you need to know.
One big novelty is the addition of a 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine coming to join the existing 6.2-liter V8.
Ford says this is an all-new engine but the press blurb lacks power and torque figures. Instead, we’re told that the powerplant features the likes of a cast iron block, forged steel crankshaft and new cylinder heads with port fuel injection.
The engine is mated to Ford’s 10-speed automatic gearbox which also handles the grunt provided by the third engine in the range – a 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 unit.
On the gimmicks front, the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty bags the Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance systems, FordPass Connect, 4G LTE modem with Wi-Fi as well as safety features such as Blind Spot Information, Pre-Collision Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
Ford says the new 2020 F-Series Super Duty will reach showrooms this fall, which is probably when we’ll get pricing info and a clearer view on other specs.
