Anyone can buy the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R race car

Sure, you can get a Chevrolet Camaro race car, but at a steep cost

The base price of the new Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R is $259,000. It is based on the Camaro ZL1 production car and is made to meet global GT4 regulations. This is done in cooperation with Pratt & Miller Engineering, the technical partner who actually makes the modifications.

There are two teams that have purchased the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R and have competed in and won races in 2017. They have competed in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS Drivers, Manufacturers, and Team championships and the 2017 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series.

With a minimum weight of 3,131 pounds (1,420 kg), the Camaro GT4.R’s aerodynamics have all been developed and tested on a full-scale rolling road and wind tunnel. It features a V8 direct-injection, custom carbon fiber intake, a new camshaft, and a customized Bosch Motorsport MS6 ECU. All told, the GT.R can be tuned up to 480 hp (the street-legal ZL1 LE has 650 hp).

The GT4.R has wider front fenders, a hood extractor, aerodynamic side skirts, carbon fiber doors and front fascia. There is also a carbon fiber rear spoiler, a fiber front splitter, and a four-piston Brembo brake system.
